*** is a 350 bed full-service Magnet Designated hospital. It is located in the heart of the medical district. *** serves as a tertiary referral center for Tarrant County and many counties within a 90 mile radius. We offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. Our specialties include cardiac care, neurosciences and oncology. We have surgical services, orthopedics, kidney transplants and emergency care. We offer three ER locations, including two off campus ER located in Burleson and White Settlement. *** is a designated comprehensive stroke center. We are a Joint Commission chest pain center. We are a part of the Medical City network of hospitals. Patients are ensured access to medical experts and advanced healthcare innovations across the network.
Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the supervision of the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Progressive Care shares 24-hour accountability and additional responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the assigned nursing department(s). Functions will be performed in accordance with the nurse practice act in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the hospital.
Major Responsibilities:
Quality :
Performs hourly rounding and responds promptly to call lights and patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
Follows patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
Assures quality of care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital and external regulatory agency guidelines.
Functions effectively as an interdisciplinary team member.
Accepts accountability and responsibility for achievement of operational and capital budget goals.
Service:
Promotes consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.
Demonstrates caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications.
Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
Participates as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues.
Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behaviors consistent with established policies/procedures.
People:
Uses job knowledge and proficiency of skills to successfully assist in orientation of new employees.
Shares new knowledge with peers and mentors those with less experience.
Attends and actively participates in unit meetings.

What qualifications you will need:
2 years of recent PCU Acute Care Leadership experience required
Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing required.
Master’s of Science in Nursing preferred.
Current RN licensure by the State of Texas or from a Compact State if you declare the Compact State your Primary State of Residence.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
