Shift Time: DAY SHIFT, 1p-9:15pm
Schedule Notes: 2 years of recent PACU RN exp needed
Contract 6 weeks

Job Summary: The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. This role focuses on patient stabilization, monitoring, and safe transition of care in a post-operative setting.

Responsibilities
• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care and continuous patient monitoring.
• Assess airway, cardiovascular status, pain, and level of consciousness.
• Manage post-operative medications, IV therapies, and medicated drips.
• Identify and respond to post-operative complications and changes in condition.
• Document nursing assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU Registered Nurse experience – Required
• Post-operative management and medicated drip experience – Required
• Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience – Required
• EPIC EMR experience highly preferred

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required

Certifications
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required

License: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License – Required

Facility Details
• PACU with 6 beds and an average census of 6 patients
• Staffing guideline of 1:1–1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
