Shift Time: NIGHT SHIFT 7:30 PM-8:30 AM
Contract: 13 weeks

Job Summary: The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct inpatient nursing care to adult patients before and after surgical and medical treatment. This role focuses on patient assessment, medication administration, and coordination of care within a hospital-based Med Surg setting.

Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-operative patients.
• Administer medications, initiate IV therapy, and perform wound care.
• Monitor vital signs and patient responses, reporting changes promptly.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient education.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support patient outcomes.

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience – Required
• Acute care hospital or post-acute facility experience accepted
• Most recent Med Surg experience must be within the past year
• Experience with physical assessment, IV therapy, post-operative care, and telemetry monitoring
• EPIC EMR experience – Preferred

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required

Certifications
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required (Queens only)

License
• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License – Required
• Primary Source Verification – Required
