Histotechnologist – Travel Contract
Mad River Community Hospital | Arcata, CA

Are you a precision-driven Histology professional looking for your next adventure? Mad River Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histology Technician (HT) to join our pathology team in beautiful Northern California.

Position Overview
Location: Arcata, CA

Term: 13-Week Contract (ASAP Start)

Schedule: 35–40 hours per week (Guaranteed)

Weekly Gross Pay: $1,400

Taxable Base: $700/week

Tax-Free Stipends: $700/week

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be the "artist and scientist" behind the microscope, ensuring high-quality tissue preparation for our pathologists.

Specimen Processing: Receive, log, and prioritize surgical, diagnostic, and autopsy tissue specimens.

Core Histology: Perform expert embedding, microtomy (cutting), and mounting of tissue sections onto slides.

Staining: Execute routine H&E stains as well as complex special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures.

Quality Control: Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare reagents, and ensure all slides meet diagnostic standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with the pathology team to ensure timely and accurate results for patient care.

Requirements
Certification: HTL (ASCP) or HT (ASCP) preferred.

Health: Proof of a clear TB test conducted within the last 12 months.

Experience: Previous clinical histology experience is highly valued; high attention to detail is a must.

Physicality: Ability to perform repetitive motions (microtomy) and maintain focus during delicate procedures.

CloudinfraIT Inc Job ID #293859. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 35 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
