**Travel Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN | Great Falls, MT | $2,182/week**
**Location:** Great Falls, Montana
**Start Date:** ASAP
**Duration:** 13 Weeks
**Schedule:** 36 hours per week | Day Shift
**Weekly Gross Pay:** $2,182.00 ($936.00 Taxable + $1,246.00 Non-Taxable Stipends)
**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a clinical and adaptable Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Great Falls, MT. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients within a specialized medical/surgical unit. This position is ideal for a critical care expert who can manage complex patient populations—including pediatrics, cardiac, and post-surgical cases—while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
**Non-Negotiable Required Qualifications:**
Please note: Candidates who do not meet 100% of the following criteria will not be considered for this role.
* **Licensure:** Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Montana (or active Compact/Multistate license).
* **Certifications:** Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are strictly required.
* **Experience:** 2+ years into PCU. Proven ability to assess and implement established policies with minimal supervision. Experience in post-heart catheterization and pediatric care is highly preferred.
* **Traveler Status:** Candidate must be a non-local traveler (typically residing more than 50 miles from the facility).
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Acutely Ill Patient Care:** Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, managing diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, DKA, and sepsis.
* **Advanced Equipment Operation:** Demonstrate mastery in operating advanced medical equipment, including A-lines, central lines, chest tubes, and short-term ventilation support.
* **Medication Management:** Manage and titrate common critical IV medications, including Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine.
* **Clinical Leadership:** Act as a clinical leader on the floor, giving direction to LPNs, CNAs, and support staff while assisting with the precepting of new personnel.
* **Care Coordination:** Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans and manage the entire patient journey from admission through discharge planning.
**Important Assignment Notes:**
* **Versatility:** The Progressive Care Nurse will complement the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit when staffing actions are required.
* **Technical Skills:** Mandatory proficiency in EKG interpretation and basic cardiac telemetry.
* **Scope of Work:** The clinician must be prepared to handle a broad scope of surgical services and post-op care (PCI, pacemaker, revascularization, etc.).
