Registered Nurse (RN) – Consultant Role (Days)
Location: Newark, Delaware
Start Date: 05/04/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days (Monday – Friday, normal business hours)
Hours: 40 hours/week
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide consultative services supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This role focuses on promoting overall health and wellness, advocating for patient needs, and ensuring access to quality healthcare services.
The RN Consultant plays a key role in helping individuals achieve their best possible health outcomes by working closely with support teams, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and review healthcare records, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation
Conduct ongoing nursing assessments and monitor health status of individuals served
Advocate for routine and preventative healthcare services
Collaborate with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams
Provide education on medication administration, infection control, and general health practices
Ensure quality control of medication processes, including documentation and error reporting
Develop and prepare reports on individuals’ health status
Build and maintain strong relationships with caregivers, families, and support systems
Train and support staff on delegated nursing tasks
Promote healthy lifestyle choices and individualized care plans
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Delaware) in good standing
Minimum 1 year of general nursing experience (IDD experience preferred)
CPR & First Aid certification
Valid driver’s license
Developmental Disabilities Nursing Association Accreditation (preferred)
Additional Details
No on-call requirement
EMR systems: Therap (documentation), Homecare Homebase (HCHB)
Focus on community-based and consultative nursing care
