Travel Registered Nurse – Float Pool (ICU / Telemetry / Med-Surg) | Illinois

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Float Pool position covering multiple high-acuity units including ICU, Step-Down, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical. This is a quick start opportunity for candidates with strong critical care and cardiac experience.

Assignment Details
Location: Rockford, IL 61103
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days – 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Hours: 36 hours per week
Position Overview

This role requires a highly skilled RN capable of working across multiple units, including ICU, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke/Neuro, Step-Down, and Med-Surg. Candidates must be comfortable floating based on patient care needs and demonstrate strong adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Administer medications and treatments per established protocols
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety standards
Requirements
Active Illinois RN License
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
ICU experience required
Strong cardiac experience required
Willingness to float to Med-Surg and other units as needed
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required)
Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Additional Information
Holiday coverage required
Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
Ability to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment is essential
