Travel RN – Pre-Op / PACU | Vermont | Quick Start

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Op / PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in a scenic rural setting in Vermont. This is a great opportunity for nurses who enjoy a close-knit healthcare environment and outdoor lifestyle.

Location:Newport, VT 05855
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift
5 days/week, 8-hour shifts
On-call required
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Position Overview

The RN will provide care in both Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings. This role requires strong perioperative experience and the ability to manage patients throughout the surgical process, from preparation through recovery.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for surgical procedures in the pre-op setting
Monitor and care for patients in PACU post-surgery
Assess patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesia providers
Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery
Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of RN experience
Strong experience in Pre-Op and PACU settings
Active RN license (or ability to obtain upon acceptance)
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
Ability to work independently in a smaller, rural facility
Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Additional Information
Holiday coverage required
On-call responsibilities included
Personal transportation is strongly recommended due to limited public transit
Participation in quarterly department education sessions is required
