About the Opportunity
Join a dedicated maternal-newborn care team in beautiful Hilo, Hawaii, supporting an integrated unit that spans Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum services. This 13-week travel assignment offers the chance to deliver high-quality, family-centered care while experiencing life on the Big Island.
Unit Size: 8 Labor & Delivery beds | 18 Postpartum beds
Schedule & Compensation
Shift: Variable — day and night 12-hour shifts available
Hours: 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
Call: Scheduled 12 hours of call at least once per month
Note: No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
Weekly Pay Breakdown:
Taxable: $648
Stipend: $1,580
Total Gross Weekly: $2,228
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care for laboring mothers throughout all stages of labor
Assist physicians and midwives with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
Deliver immediate newborn care, including assessment, stabilization, and bonding support
Provide postpartum care for mothers, including recovery monitoring, education, and discharge planning
Document accurately in Meditech and operate GE/Centricity fetal monitoring systems
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
Licensure: Active State of Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment (candidates without an active HI license must apply immediately upon offer acceptance)
Certifications (Required): BLS, NRP
Certifications (Recommended): STABLE, Advanced Fetal Monitoring
Technology & Equipment
Meditech (electronic medical record)
GE / Centricity fetal monitoring system
