📋 Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Position Overview:
Seeking a versatile and highly motivated Perioperative Registered Nurse to join a surgical services team. This role supports patients throughout the perioperative continuum, including pre-op, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a rural hospital environment and capable of responding confidently during emergency surgical cases.
Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Circulate a variety of surgical cases including General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/C-Sections, and emergency procedures.
Assist with patient preparation, recovery, monitoring, and education.
Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques.
Support trauma and emergency surgical cases as needed.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary team members.
Ensure patient safety and adherence to perioperative standards of care.
Complete accurate and timely documentation using Meditech EMR.
Requirements
✅ Active Utah RN License or Compact RN License
✅ Graduate of an accredited nursing program
✅ BLS Certification required
✅ ACLS Certification required or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
✅ Strong understanding of sterile technique and patient safety practices
✅ Ability to participate in on-call rotation with a 20-minute response time
✅ 3+ Experience in OR Circulating, Pre-Op, and PACU preferred
Preferred Skills
Experience with General, Orthopedic, and OB/C-Section cases
Ability to independently manage emergency surgical cases during overnight call
Trauma experience or willingness to assist in emergency department trauma situations
Strong critical thinking and adaptability in a rural healthcare setting
Assignment Details:
13-week contract
Day shift, Monday–Friday (5x8s)
Average 7–9 days of call per month
Rotating evenings, weekends, and holiday call
20-minute response time required
EMR: Meditech
Blue scrubs preferred
Compensation:
Guaranteed 36 hours per week
Overtime after 40 hours/week
1-hour minimum call-back guarantee
