Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work on an Ortho/Neuro Unit. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care, administer medications and treatments, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

The travel RN may also be required to float to other units based on patient and staffing needs.

Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care using the nursing process
Assess patients and identify changes in condition
Develop, initiate, and implement individualized patient care plans
Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely
Follow approved nursing techniques, hospital policies, and standards of care
Monitor patient responses to medications and treatments
Document patient care accurately and timely
Provide patient and family education
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
Utilize critical thinking to promote patient safety
Recognize and appropriately escalate changes in patient condition
Participate in unit and department performance improvement activities
Support shared governance initiatives when applicable
Provide clinical guidance and expertise to other departments as needed
Maintain a safe and positive patient experience
Float to other units as required
Requirements

✅ Current, active Wisconsin RN License
✅ NIHSS certification
✅ BLS/CPR certification
✅ 3 yrears of Experienced Registered Nurse Med Surg
✅ Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
✅ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
✅ Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
✅ Willingness to float to other units as needed
✅ Education verification required

Schedule & Assignment Details
12-hour night shifts
6:30 PM–7:00 AM
36 hours/week guaranteed
Every other weekend required
Holiday coverage required
13-week contract
EPIC EMR
No on-call requirement
Additional Information
Travel RN may be required to float to other units.
Candidates must have an active Wisconsin RN license.
NIHSS and CPR/BLS are required.
Education verification will be completed as part of the hiring process.
Strong patient safety, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills are essential.
