❤️ Travel Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

📍 Location: Hilo, Hawaii
📅 Contract: 13 Weeks
🌙 Shift: Nights | 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
⏱️ Hours: 36 Hours/Week After Orientation
💻 EMR: EPIC

We're seeking an experienced Progressive Care / Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in a progressive care setting. This role provides primary nursing care, continuous cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and care for step-down and telemetry patients.

✅ Requirements
Active Hawaii RN License required by the start of the assignment
Minimum 3 years of Progressive Care / Telemetry RN experience
Recent acute-care hospital experience
Current BLS/BCLS Certification
ACLS Certification preferred
PALS Certification preferred
NIHSS Certification preferred
Strong telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip interpretation skills
Experience with fingerstick blood glucose monitoring
Ability to provide care in a fast-paced acute-care environment

❤️ Clinical Experience
Provide primary nursing care to progressive care and telemetry patients
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips
Care for patients requiring step-down and continuous cardiac monitoring
Perform fingerstick blood glucose testing and other routine nursing procedures
Utilize BIPAP and other patient-care equipment as appropriate
Administer medications using Pyxis and maintain accurate clinical documentation
Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in acuity
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

📌 Assignment Highlights
15-bed Progressive Care Unit with 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
Progressive Care ratio of approximately 1:4 and Step-Down ICU ratio of approximately 1:3
No on-call requirement
May float to other acute-care units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
Holiday coverage required
Traveler must arrive the Thursday before the assignment for the required Employee Health appointment on Friday
