Description
PAY starting at $54/hr w2
Key Responsibilites: Provide direct and consultative instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse communication and learning needs
- Utilize communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), total communication, or auditory-verbal approaches
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and families
- Conduct assessments, track student progress, and maintain accurate documentation
- Support use of assistive technology and hearing devices in the classroom
- Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Active North Carolina Professional Educator’s License
- DHH (Deaf & Hard of Hearing) endorsement through NCDPI
- Prior school-based or pediatric experience working with hearing-impaired students
- Knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and special education best practices
