ESS Clinical is actively hiring Special Education Teachers to support students within Washington Elementary School District (WESD) in Phoenix, Arizona for the 2026-2027 school year.

W2 Contracts starting at $53/hr 

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide specialized academic instruction aligned with Arizona state standards
• Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate student records
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions
• Support student social, emotional, behavioral, and academic growth
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school personnel
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications

Arizona Certification Requirements

Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain:

• Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate issued by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE)
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)

AND one of the following:

• Mild/Moderate Disabilities Special Education Certificate (K–12)
• Cross-Categorical Special Education Certificate
• Moderate/Severe Disabilities Special Education Certificate (K–12)

Additional Requirements

• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education compliance requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards
