Description
ESS Clinical is actively hiring Special Education Teachers to support students within Washington Elementary School District (WESD) in Phoenix, Arizona for the 2026-2027 school year.
W2 Contracts starting at $53/hr
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized academic instruction aligned with Arizona state standards
- Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate student records
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions
- Support student social, emotional, behavioral, and academic growth
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school personnel
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
Arizona Certification Requirements
Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain:
- Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate issued by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE)
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
AND one of the following:
- Mild/Moderate Disabilities Special Education Certificate (K–12)
- Cross-Categorical Special Education Certificate
- Moderate/Severe Disabilities Special Education Certificate (K–12)
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education compliance requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards
