Description

ESS Clinical is seeking a compassionate and highly qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team and support students within Harmony Public Schools. 

Pay starting at $60/hr W2 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations related to visual functioning and educational needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized educational strategies and IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families.
  • Adapt instructional materials and curriculum to ensure accessibility.
  • Provide instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and compensatory skills as needed.
  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist school staff in implementing accommodations and modifications that support student success.
  • Promote student independence, self-advocacy, and transition readiness.

Required Texas Licensure & Certification Requirements

Candidates must possess:

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • Texas Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI) Certification.
  • Certification must be in good standing and maintained throughout employment.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, IDEA regulations, and IEP processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Degree in Special Education, Visual Impairments, Education, or a related field preferred.
