Description
ESS Clinical is seeking a dedicated and passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to support students within Harmony Public Schools.
Pay starting at $60/hr W2
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Conduct assessments and assist in determining educational needs and appropriate accommodations.
- Develop and implement IEP goals and specialized instructional plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists, educational audiologists, interpreters, and classroom teachers.
- Support student access to curriculum through accommodations, assistive technology, and communication strategies.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and provide recommendations regarding educational programming.
- Educate and support school staff regarding best practices for serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Foster self-advocacy, communication skills, and independence among students.
Required Texas Licensure & Certification Requirements
Candidates must possess:
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
- Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification (Deaf Education Certification) recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
- Certification must be in good standing and maintained throughout employment.
- Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, Education, or a related field preferred.
