ESS Clinical is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to provide school-based therapy services for Carlsbad Municipal Schools in Carlsbad, New Mexico. 

Pay starting at $64/W2 or $67/hr 1099

Essential Responsibilities

• Evaluate students referred for physical therapy services.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
• Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services in school settings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and eligibility meetings.
• Attend and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, and families.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, positioning devices, and environmental modifications.
• Maintain accurate treatment notes, progress reports, and Medicaid documentation (if applicable).
• Monitor student progress and update therapy goals as needed.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program.
• Experience providing pediatric or school-based physical therapy services is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and educational service delivery.
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required Licensure & Certification

• Current New Mexico Physical Therapist License issued by the New Mexico Physical Therapy Board or eligibility to obtain licensure before the start of employment. Applicants must satisfy New Mexico licensing requirements, including passing the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and the required New Mexico jurisprudence examination.
• New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) PreK–12 Physical Therapist License (or eligibility to obtain), which requires a valid New Mexico Physical Therapist license, completion of the NMPED application process, and background/fingerprint clearance for school-based practice.
• Ability to successfully complete all district onboarding requirements, fingerprinting, and criminal background screening prior to employment.
