Description
ESS Clinical is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support students in Charleston County School District for the 2026–2027 school year. The teacher will provide specially designed instruction, implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and related-service providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and small-group special education instruction.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals.
- Participate in IEP/eligibility meetings.
- Provide accommodations and modifications.
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Implement positive behavior-support strategies.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related-service providers.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom.
- Follow CCSD, South Carolina Department of Education, and ESS Clinical policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
- Completion of an approved educator preparation program, as applicable.
- Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certificate appropriate for the assignment.
- Strong knowledge of special education, IEPs, and instructional practices.
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
- Successful completion of background check and fingerprinting.
- Successful completion of ESS Clinical and CCSD onboarding requirements.
Acceptable South Carolina Special Education Certifications
Candidates must hold the appropriate certification for their assignment, including:
- Multi-Categorical – PK–12
- Emotional Disabilities – PK–12
- Intellectual Disabilities – PK–12
- Learning Disabilities – PK–12
- Severe Disabilities – PK–12
- Early Childhood – Ages 3–5
- Hearing Impairments – PK–12
- Visual Impairments – PK–12
