Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field required
• Valid New Jersey School Psychologist certification/licensure, as applicable
• School-based experience preferred but not required
• Strong assessment, evaluation, and report-writing skills
• Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and counseling techniques
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, teachers, and school staff
• Familiarity with special education laws, regulations, and student support services
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting the well-being and success of students

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
• Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for individualized education programs (IEPs), interventions, and student support services
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and other school professionals to develop and implement strategies that address students' individual needs
• Provide individual and/or group counseling and other mental health support services, as appropriate
• Assist with the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and crisis intervention strategies
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to evaluate students for special education eligibility and contribute to IEP development
• Support students experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school climate through social-emotional learning and other student-focused initiatives
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential student records in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations
