Description

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a department which consists of several clinical rooms and offices, and sometimes requires working in close quarters with other employees. These rooms are all air conditioned as well as heated. Work may also be performed in patient rooms throughout the hospitals or at an offsite location, as determined by contracted services.
  • PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: As needed, gloves, mask, gown, and other personal protective equipment, as per blood and body fluid and isolation precautions.

  • All – Access to patient information, including restricted information – Level 4

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship year candidate.

Preferred:

  • Previous clinical experience
  • Experience with dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders


License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • NYS license or eligibility to be licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • CPR certification within first 3 months of employment.

Preferred:

  • Certification Teacher of Speech and Language Disabilities.
Ensures that speech - language pathology services are administered and completed in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. Provides speech - language pathology patient evaluations and treatment for hospital based inpatient and/or outpatient services, as well as associated clinical documentation.Maintains specific service delivery standards which address commitment to service, customer satisfaction, ongoing evaluation of customer expectations, integration with quality process, communication and interaction standards, turn-around time and information processing standards, corporate compliance requirements, and physical amenities/environment of care.
