Description

Sign-On Bonus:

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality evaluation and treatment for patients with upper extremity and hand-related conditions, injuries, and post-surgical needs.

  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Participate in splint fabrication, wound care (as appropriate), and functional rehabilitation interventions.

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Hand Therapy program at UHS.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with department standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs and condition management.

  • Actively participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy, receiving applicable degree or certificate in occupational therapy course of study, with Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent.

  • Possession of a NYS license or eligibility to be licensed as an occupational therapist.

  • CPR certification within first 3 months of employment.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree: Clinical experience in a hospital-based setting.

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certified.

UHS is seeking a dedicated and motivated Occupational Therapist with a strong interest in Hand Therapy—whether you are an experienced clinician or a new graduate looking to grow into the specialty. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high‑performing outpatient rehab team and play a key role in the development and expansion of our UHS Hand Therapy program. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside skilled Certified Hand Therapists, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and gain extensive experience treating upper extremity conditions in a supportive and growth‑oriented environment.
