Description
Work Environment
- Office work environment with the air conditioning and/or heat available and a variety of outside weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, etc.) environments.
- Gloves, masks, gowns, protective eyewear and hearing protection are available per hospital and infection control policy.

HIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information
- Clinical – Access to patient information that is not restricted (an example of restricted information is ARU) – Level 3.
Staff Supervised
- May be assigned to lead and/or supervise a group of Emergency Medical Technicians at a public event. Assignment will be made by the Program Manager of EMS/Medevac Operations.
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in highly stressful emergency situations.
- Ability to lift a 200 lb. person from ground into an ambulance with assistance from one other lifting individual.
- Ability to legibly complete written work.
- Ability to operate a computer and utilize related documentation programs.
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- Current certification by NYS-DOH as an EMT-Paramedic.
- Is currently credentialed as an Adv. EMT-Paramedic within the EMS Region to practice as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic.
- Possess a valid healthcare professional CPR certification (AHA, ARC, ASHI, etc.).
