Description

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office that requires working in close quarters with other employees. High level of activity and confined space on nursing units. Personal protective equipment is used when entering isolation rooms.

Age of Patients Served

School Age: 6 to 12 Years
Adolescent: 13 to 17 Years
Early Adulthood: 18 to 45 Years
Middle Adult: 46 to 59 Years
Late Adult: 60 to 79 Years
Elderly: 80+ Years

HIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information

Non Clinical – Access to patient demographics/insurance information – Level 1

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience. Proficient in the use of computers.

Preferred:

Prior health care food service experience.

The Diet Assistant processes meal orders for patients in order to promote a positive patient experience with the meal service. The Diet Assistant takes meal orders from patients, families or nursing staff either over the phone or by visiting the patient at the bedside. The Diet Assistant processes menus for Behavioral Health patients.
