Description
Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office and/or gym environment in proximity to other employees and patients.
- The office and gym are both air-conditioned as well as heated.
- Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
- Fast-paced environment including frequent interruptions and familiarity with exercise equipment.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and proper demonstration of all exercise equipment.
- PPE- Masks, gloves, and any other appropriate PPE per UHS Infection Control and CDC Guidelines when appropriate.
Age of Patients Served
- Early Adulthood: 18 to 45 Years
- Middle Adult: 46 to 59 Years
- Late Adult: 60 to 79 Years
- Elderly: 80+ Years
HIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information
- All – Access to patient information, including restricted information – Level 4
Staff Supervised
- Not Applicable
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or related field
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or related.
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of employment.
- ACLS certification within 3 months of employment.
Preferred:
- American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified Certified Exercise Specialist (CES) or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP)
- American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP)
