Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU is responsible for providing specialized, high-quality nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates in a Level II/III Intensive Care Nursery setting. The RN delivers safe, evidence-based care while collaborating with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments of neonatal patients
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with neonatal standards of practice
Operate and monitor advanced NICU equipment (ventilators, CPAP, IV pumps, monitors, etc.)
Provide family-centered education and emotional support
Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record
Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
Participate in competency validation and ongoing clinical education
