Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, specialized care to critically ill newborns in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role involves caring for premature and medically complex infants, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting families through critical care experiences.
Schedule & Work Environment:
Three to four 12-hour shifts per week
Weekend requirement: Every third weekend (or more based on preference)
No on-call requirements
Standby process in place if census decreases (must be able to report within 1 hour if activated)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Level III NICU care to premature and critically ill newborns
Operate and manage advanced respiratory support including CPAP and ventilators
Perform and monitor UVC lines
Support deliveries in Labor & Delivery as needed
Deliver developmentally appropriate, family-centered care
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including therapy and support services
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2–3 years of Level III NICU experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Active RN license
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
Takes initiative and demonstrates accountability
Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Empathetic and family-focused approach to care
Strong clinical skills with openness to feedback
Unit Overview:
Level III NICU caring for infants as early as 22 weeks gestation
Focus on medical (non-surgical) neonatal care
Collaborative team environment including nursing staff and allied health professionals (physical therapy, nutrition, speech therapy, and social work)
Potential to float to pediatric or maternity units to care for newborns if needed
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Background check and employment verification
Drug screening and health clearances
Immunization records (including but not limited to COVID-19, Influenza, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap)
TB screening and mask fit testing
License and certification verification
Skills assessments and competency evaluations
