Psychiatric Master Social Worker (MSW) – Travel Contract | Up to $1,000 Weekly Stipend

Compensation & Schedule

Travel MSW: $26 per hour + $1,000 weekly stipend

Full-time onsite assignment

Schedule determined by facility during orientation

(Unit, shift, and days off assigned by CMHIP and are non-negotiable)

Position Overview

SpectrumACS, a division of American Correctional Solutions, is staffing Master-level Social Workers (MSW) for a 24-week contract at Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo (CMHIP), a Level 4 secure forensic psychiatric hospital serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

This role provides clinical support across high-acuity inpatient units, including competency restoration, NGRI, civil commitment, and voluntary treatment populations. The position requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary treatment team in a secure psychiatric environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans

Facilitate individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions

Document treatment interventions, behavioral observations, and clinical progress

Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings

Assist with discharge planning and coordination of community resources

Maintain safety and trauma-informed care practices in a secure facility

Collaborate with psychiatry, nursing, and security staff across units

Requirements

Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program

Eligibility for Colorado LSW (endorsement or exam)

1+ year experience in inpatient psychiatric, behavioral health, or state hospital settings preferred

Comfort working in secure forensic psychiatric environments

MANDT training required (completed during facility orientation)

Current AHA BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start

Must not have worked at CMHIP within the past 6 months

Must pass background check, drug screen, TB screening, immunizations, and physical exam
