Description

Unit Name: Main OR

Float Requirements: Float to Chestnut (ambulatory surgery)

On Call Requirements: 4 call shifts per month

Weekend and Holiday Requirements: One weekend per month and possible holiday

Brief Unit Description: The Main OR is a level 1 trauma center requiring level 1 experience. It comprises 24 ORs in total, with specific allocations including: - 5 dedicated to Cardiac and Vascular - 2-4 for Total Joints - 2 for Ortho Trauma - 3-5 for Neuro/Spine - 3 ORs for Robots

The remaining ORs handle Trauma, General, GYN, and Plastics cases. The Main OR also covers Transplant and organ recovery. Operations run 24/7 with two teams overnight and a third team on call. Weekend coverage includes 4 teams on Saturday with a 5th team on call, and Sundays featuring 3 teams with a 4th team on call. On-call response time is 30 minutes.
