Facility Capacity and Unit Specifications:

• Total Facility Beds: 341
• Unit Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Trauma Level: 2

Certification and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty required
• Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Staffing and Patient Ratios:

• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 3:1
• Ancillary Assistance Includes:
• CNA/PCT Staff per shift: 3
• Telemetry Technician

Orientation and Documentation:

• Days of Orientation: 1-2
• Documentation System: EPIC
• Medication System: MAK

Floating and Rotation:

• Rotation: Nurses will be part of the Resource Float team
• Floating Requirements: Expected to float to appropriate units as needed

Dress Code:

• Scrubs/Color: Navy blue or white
• Shoes: Closed-toe, nonskid
• Jewelry: Minimal
• Hair: Groomed, professional; no beard
• Nail Policy: No artificial nails

Patient Population and Procedures:

• Patient Population Includes: Acute Coronary Syndrome, Cardiac monitoring, Postoperative care, Drug toxicity, ETOH withdrawal, Heart Failure, and more
• Age Range: Adult
• Special Equipment: Includes support for ventilated patients; only home vents managed on unit

Special Procedures and Protocols:

• Unit Specific Procedures: Insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, post cardiac catheterization care
• Additional Requirements: ACLS and telemetry experience

Miscellaneous Information:

• Scheduling: Weekend requirements typically every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Yes, if needed
• Transportation: Reliable personal or rental vehicle recommended due to limited public transportation availability
