Unit Description:
This is a 32-bed Orthopedic/Neuro Medical-Surgical unit. It is a private unit that admits all other medical overflows. The census is 32 total beds, divided equally with 16 beds in each section.

Floating Requirements:
Travelers are required to float to applicable units when requested.

Shift Details:
Rotating shifts are required. Day rotators may be rotated between shifts of 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a when needed. Night positions do not rotate. The rotation frequency is low.

Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years of experience.

Skills Required:
- Medical-Surgical experience with neuro assessment skills - Telemetry competency - Ability to interpret telemetry strips

Clinician to Patient Ratio:
- Day and evening shifts: 1:4, may go up to 5 - Night shift: 1:5 or 6

Patient Population:
Includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro-surgical patients, fractures, neuro patients, and all other medical patient overflows.

Certifications Required:
- Current Massachusetts RN License - BLS - ACLS preferred
