Outpatient Physical Therapist

Evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans based on patients' needs, goals, and physician directions. Responsible for directing therapy services and designing functional treatment programs for effective community integration. Acts as an educator for patients, coworkers, and self. Engages in other duties related to patient care and therapy services development.

Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the organization's mission and core values. Maintains compliance with organizational conduct codes, including confidentiality. Upholds professional standards and accountability.

Emphasizes patient and employee safety, implementing safe practices such as patient handling, materials handling, managing infectious diseases, and maintaining a safe work environment. Adheres to clinic guidelines regarding appearance, attendance, and punctuality.

JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES / COMPETENCIES

• Completes comprehensive evaluations of patients.
• Utilizes clinical reasoning for developing treatment plans and discharge-focused goals.
• Completes documentation accurately and timely, including medical records, goal writing, assessments, and necessary communication in compliance with guidelines.
• Provides care under valid physician orders and insurance approval when indicated.
• Participates in student training programs, providing supervision and evaluating students.
• Pursues professional development through education, self-study, and professional organizations.
• Maintains state practice requirements and professional licensure.
• Embraces and contributes to performance improvement initiatives for quality enhancement.

Skills and Requirements:

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• At least 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• CPR Certification.
• Active and applicable licensure for the practicing state.
• Experience with past assignments in similar roles is highly beneficial.
