Description
We are seeking a highly skilled nurse with experience in Radiation Oncology for a procedural role in brachytherapy. The responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for a complex patient population. The nurse will prepare patients, assist during procedures, and aid in patient recovery as needed.
In this role, the nurse will provide clinical support, as well as psychosocial and emotional support for patients and their families before, during, and after treatment. Care includes adult patients, with the possibility of pediatric care for those with PALS and pediatric training.
The nurse will be part of a multidisciplinary team, requiring effective communication and collaboration with various staff and institutions. The role demands clinical expertise, critical thinking, and strong communication skills, along with a solid understanding of the principles and practices of current cancer treatments and clinical research.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist in brachytherapy and manage patient care during external beam treatments. - Perform procedures and Point of Care Testing as instructed.
Experience Required: - 1-2 years of procedural experience is required. - Brachytherapy or radiation oncology experience is strongly preferred. - 3-5 years of general nursing experience is also required.
