Description
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field before and during surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
- Ensure all surgical equipment is sterilized and accounted for before and after procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the sterile environment, following strict asepsis guidelines.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing the necessary tools and materials promptly.
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis as needed.
- Restock the operating room with supplies and equipment as required.
- Assist with patient transport and positioning on the operating table.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of surgical instruments and operating room equipment.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology.
- Excellent manual dexterity and coordination.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining sterile conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
