Position Overview

Location: Surgical Stepdown Unit
Unit Description: Two Med/Surgical Units including a 15-bed unit and an 8-bed Surgical Stepdown Unit.
Floating: Required to other units
Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant role
Skills Required:
Telemetry monitoring (must be able to read tele strips)
Management of chest tubes, NGT, epidurals, and capnography
Skills Preferred:
Management of arterial lines
Management of neo-synephrine
Patient Ratios:
Med/Surgical: 6-10 patients per PCA and 3-5 patients per RN
Stepdown: 2-3 patients per RN

Patient and Unit Details

Patient Population: Post-surgical care for General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, Oral, Plastics, and Trauma surgeries
Bed Count: 23
Census: 23

Operational Information

EMR System: EPIC
Certifications Required:
Current Massachusetts RN License
AHA BLS Certification
