Description:

• Review patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Position patients and perform imaging procedures, ensuring proper techniques based on patients' age and ability to cooperate to achieve quality images.
• Analyze results and identify issues with image quality, taking appropriate action to resolve these, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results, and manage radiopharmaceuticals according to protocols and regulations.
• Monitor patient conditions continually and respond to changes in status as appropriate.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.

Job Requirements:

• CT certification with PET/CT experience
• ARRT CT certification
• Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• NYS License
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• 2 years of experience

Equipment:

• Preferred knowledge in GE PET or Philips PET Scanners (not a requirement)
