Description

Looking for LPNs for a variety of med/surg and ED. Unit placement will be discussed with the traveler based on previous experience. Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State license
  • Certified/re-certified in CPR
  • Minimum of one year of experience required
  • Prior experience in an inpatient setting preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Duties:

  • Perform majority of functions needed in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
  • Greet patients, direct to exam rooms, and prepare for exams
  • Routine assistance during exams: set up trays for injections, measure and record patients’ progress, take and record vital signs
  • Assist with general office duties, reception, appointment scheduling, and chart preparation
  • Contact various insurance companies to obtain authorizations for physical therapy, MRIs, CT scans, surgery, etc.
  • Contact primary care physicians to obtain or extend referrals
  • Assist physicians in care
  • Maintain exam rooms and all clinical areas
  • Administer injections and assist with procedures
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records strongly desired
  • Implement activities under the direction of the primary or associate nurse as outlined in the care plan
  • Observe and report patient responses to treatments
  • Participate in activities related to nursing unit management
