Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional for a Step-Down/Progressive Care Unit. The candidate should have over two years of recent experience in a similar setting and be adept at handling a diverse range of patient conditions.

Work Schedule

• EOW (Every Other Weekend) & EOH (Every Other Holiday)
• No blocked scheduling
• Local candidates are accepted

Patient Population

• Diagnoses:
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Post-heart catheterization
• Post-vascular procedures
• Respiratory failure (BiPAP/CPAP/Vapotherm)
• Cardiac dysrhythmias

Unit Procedures and Expectations

• Post-heart catheterization care
• TR band management
• Post-vascular procedure monitoring
• Frequent vital sign checks
• Neurovascular assessments

Certification Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Required Skills

• Cardiac/Emergency:
• Cardiac monitoring
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• 12-lead EKG/ECG
• IV/Vascular:
• IV start and maintenance
• PICC line management
• Blood product administration
• Medications:
• Emergency medication management
• Procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Cardiac drip titration
• Neurological:
• CVA/Acute stroke management
• Respiratory/Thoracic:
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal

Professional Skills

• Infection prevention
• Proper use of isolation precautions/PPE
• Phlebotomy proficiency

Medication System

• Pyxis
