Description

• Engage in call rotation, which includes two full weekends and one weekday per week, with a one-hour response time.
• Be available for 6-8 days of call per month, including 1 Friday, 1 Saturday, and 1 Sunday.
• Shift assignments vary from pre-op, circulator/tech, to post-op, with start times between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing knowledge and skills to provide care.
• Assess patient and family needs through active listening and data analysis.
• Develop individualized and culturally relevant care plans.
• Set goals and monitor patient progress in collaboration with healthcare team members.
• Advocate for the health, safety, and rights of patients.
• Facilitate mutual trust and cooperation among team members.
• Delegate tasks consistent with education and scope of practice.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention strategies.
• Educate patients and families to continue care and healing at home.
• Evaluate quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, using results to initiate improvements.
• Engage in self-evaluation for professional development.
• Maintain a meaningful connection with patients and their families.
• Develop trusting, caring relationships through presence and communication.
• Anticipate and strive to meet the needs of patients and families.

Requirements

• NYS RN Licensure with at least 1 year of experience.
• Experience in an Endo environment as a Registered Nurse for at least 1 year.
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.

Safety

• Be aware of the potential for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens through contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
