Primarily focused on ICU, with the possibility to float to CVICU. There may also be a potential to float to Med/Surg Tele units if there is an operational need and low census. CVICU experience required.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process effectively in patient care by ensuring relevant, accurate, and current patient records.
- Provide documentation of comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, social dimensions, and discharge plans.
- Initiate and communicate care plans with allied patient care providers.
- Assume and demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computerized nursing informatics (information systems).
- Serve as a resource person for patient care, staff orientation, and teaching.
- Participate in evaluating care, monitoring quality and appropriateness.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, particularly concerning blood/body fluids.
- Assess and document personal and professional development needs, maintaining knowledge of techniques and regulations.
- Represent the hospital favorably within the community while maintaining confidentiality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Graduate of a School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
- Prior critical care experience required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Completion of CCHC Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia exams.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Preferred: Certification in De-escalation, Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), and Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR).
- Preferred: Demonstrated skills in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator care, and intracranial pressure monitoring.
