Facility Information:
- Unit: Emergency Department (ED)
- Trauma Level: IV
- Bed Capacity: 10-14 beds
- Staff: 3-4 RNs per shift, 1 ED tech 24/7, 1 MD scheduled 24 hours, Mid-level (PA or NP) scheduled 0930-2130
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in specialty required
- Prior travel contract completion necessary
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC
- Experience with EPIC within the past 2 years is mandatory
- Charge experience preferred
- Ability to transport patients if needed
Patient Population:
- Age Range: 0-100+
- Diagnoses: Newborn to geriatric patients
- Special Equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, Ranger blood warmer
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform ESI triage scale, IV insertion, drips/infusions
- Conduct EKGs, apply restraints, procedural sedation
- Coordinate ambulance transports when required
Additional Information:
- Transport of STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma patients to a higher level of care as necessary
- Utilization of Telemedicine and Telestroke consultations
- General surgery services available
- Pediatric patients transported for specialized care
- Flexibility with holiday requirements and schedule adjustments are essential
Notes for Candidates:
- Charge experience and willingness to precept new nurses if needed
- Comfortable with transport duties via ambulance
- Experience in CAH or rural ED settings is valued
- Questions regarding prior roles and responsibilities may be posed during the interview process
