Medical Lab Scientist – Blood Bank | Nights | 13-Week Contract

Maximum Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Medical Lab Scientist for a Blood Bank assignment with IU Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Assignment Details

Location: 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202

Start Date: November 23, 2026

Duration: 13 weeks; anticipated end date February 21, 2027

Schedule: Nights, 4×10-hour shifts, 9:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

Hours: 40 scheduled hours per week

Weekends: Every other weekend required

Orientation: First two weeks on day shift

Floating: Required between Methodist, University, and Riley hospitals

Responsibilities

Perform blood bank testing, prepare blood components for transfusion, process specimens, and accurately report results supporting pediatric and adult patient care.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of relevant laboratory experience

ASCP-MLS certification

Blood bank experience, including ABO/Rh testing, antibody screening and identification, tube-method antibody testing, immediate-spin/IgG and electronic crossmatching, and indirect Coombs testing

Availability for required floating, weekends, and holiday coverage

MLS candidates only; MLTs are not accepted

Preferred

ASCP-BB certification; Cerner, Level I trauma, pediatric laboratory, automated equipment, and gel testing experience.
