Travel Medical Technologist (MT) – Hematology

Compensation
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,000/week
Total Pay Rate: $50/hour
W2 Taxable Pay: $10.00/hour
Weekly Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,600/week (for qualified travelers)
Overtime Pay: $50/hour (after 40 hours worked)
Schedule
Shift: 8-Hour Nights
Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: Variable, including every-other-weekend rotation
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Travel Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join the Clinical Laboratory team at Northside Hospital Atlanta. This is a high-volume hospital laboratory environment requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently with complex specimens.

The ideal candidate will have recent Hematology and Blood Bank experience, along with hands-on experience using Sysmex and CellaVision systems. Experience in a large hospital laboratory, particularly a 600+ bed facility, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
Perform accurate laboratory testing and analysis in a high-volume core laboratory.
Perform hematology testing using Sysmex instrumentation.
Utilize CellaVision for cell morphology and differential review.
Perform accurate manual differentials, including neonatal specimens.
Process and evaluate complex specimens, including turbid samples and platelet clumps.
Identify and appropriately handle abnormal cell findings and critical results.
Follow established laboratory procedures, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.
Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate patient results.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the specialty
ASCP Certification required
Recent Hematology and Blood Bank experience
Hands-on experience with Sysmex systems
Hands-on experience with CellaVision
Experience working in a busy core laboratory
Strong experience performing accurate differentials
Experience handling complex specimens such as platelet clumps, turbid samples, and abnormal cell findings
Large hospital laboratory experience preferred, especially 600+ bed facilities

Important: The facility will consider Medical Technologists (MT) and Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) only. Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) will not be considered.
