Job Description

Cibola General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse I for a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) position. The RN will provide safe, patient- and family-centered care throughout the nursing process, including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.

The role involves caring for patients across the lifespan, with department-specific responsibilities focused on perinatal care, labor support, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn assessment. The RN will also provide patient and family education, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, supervise appropriate ancillary personnel, and maintain accurate electronic health record documentation.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
Provide direct nursing care across the lifespan.
Support patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
Perform newborn assessments and provide appropriate perinatal nursing care.
Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families.
Administer care in accordance with established nursing standards, hospital policies, and the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Direct and supervise LPNs, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel as appropriate.
Maintain sterile technique and sterile fields when required.
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and professional development activities.
Float to other departments when needed and appropriately oriented.
Requirements
Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
ADN required; BSN preferred.
Current ACLS certification.
Current NRP certification.
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required.
OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification required within 12 months.
SAFER NM Technician certification preferred.
Perinatal, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment skills.
Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance.
Strong communication, critical-thinking, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
Ability to provide care to patients across the lifespan.

Candidate Eligibility
Candidates must hold a current New Mexico RN license or an active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
LDRP/perinatal nursing competencies are required for this department.
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring are required.
