Unit: Medical/Surgical – 7th Floor Stroke Stepdown
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: August 10, 2026
Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Pay: $65-$70/hour (Up to $2,340 - $2,520/week)
Intuites Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Travel Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) with Stroke Stepdown experience for a 13-week assignment in Utica, New York.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced travel nurses who are confident caring for adult Medical/Surgical and Stroke Stepdown patients in a fast-paced acute care setting.
Job Highlights

36 guaranteed hours per week
Night Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Local and travel candidates accepted
75-mile local radius rule applies
Daily overtime after 24 hours
Weekly overtime after 48 hours (per facility policy)
64-bed Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult Medical/Surgical and Stroke Stepdown patients.
Assess, monitor, and manage patients with stroke, respiratory, renal, and other acute medical conditions.
Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
Float to other units as required while maintaining quality patient care.

64-bed Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown Unit
Adult patient population
Common diagnoses include Stroke, Altered Mental Status, Renal Disease, Dialysis, COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, Pulmonary Conditions, Isolation, and General Medical/Surgical cases
Specialty equipment includes IV Pumps, Nasogastric (NG) Tubes, and Feeding Tubes
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Requirements
Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience
Stroke Stepdown experience required
Previous travel nursing experience required
Current AHA BLS certification
NIHSS certification required (may be obtained prior to the start date)
EPIC EMR experience required
Active NURSYS license verification required
Driver's license must match candidate demographics
Skills checklist matching specialty required
