Compensation
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,520/week
Total Pay Rate: $70/hour
W2 Taxable Pay: $35.50/hour
Weekly Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,242/week (for qualified travelers)
Overtime Pay: $80/hour (after 40 hours worked)

Job Summary

An experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Utica, New York.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent IMCU/PCU experience, strong clinical skills, and experience caring for complex adult patients. Stroke experience is required.

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to IMCU patients.
Monitor and assess patients with complex medical conditions.
Manage patients requiring cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and post-operative care.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Monitor and manage specialty equipment, including chest tubes, arterial lines, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAP.
Care for patients requiring chronic ventilator support in collaboration with respiratory therapy.
Monitor patients with conditions including COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, trauma, and CV stepdown needs.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Follow facility safety, infection control, and patient-care standards.
Float to other units as required.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience
Stroke experience – Required
Current AHA BLS – Required
ACLS – Required
NIHSS – Required
Active New York RN license – Required
All active RN licenses must be verified through NURSYS.
Epic experience – Required
Travel nursing experience required for travel candidates.
Updated resume documenting relevant experience.
Skills checklist matching the specialty.
Driver’s license with address matching submitted demographics.
RTO must be included at the time of submission.
Unit Details
Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
Beds: 64 total, including 15 designated Neuro beds
Patient Population: Adults, age 18+
Common Diagnoses: Neuro, cardiac, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative patients
Specialty Equipment: Temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo
Ventilator Patients: Chronic ventilator patients unable to wean; respiratory therapy assists with care
