The Nurse Resident – Critical/Intermediate Care will actively participate in a 12-month clinical education opportunity designed to develop a professional nurse with a broad foundation in Pediatric Nursing, and strengthen critical thinking and clinical judgment abilities. The Nurse Resident will deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families with a team-orientation and with an emphasis on good customer relations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Current license or eligible for licensure to practice Nursing in Texas
- AHA BLS Card
- It is important to review ALL of the requirements for the Nurse Residency program. Complete the online application for the specialty track of choice. Submit your professional resume, essay and transcript as attachments to your online application where prompted to attach the resume.

July 2026 Cohort:
- Applicants must graduate with a BSN between December 2025 – May 2026
- Applicants may only apply to one of the two tracks.
- Applications close on January 21, 2026 at 5:00 PM Central Time.
- No documents are accepted after the deadline.
- Please be advised that no documents are accepted until January 5, 2026.
Applicant eligibility
- Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program (BSN) or an entry-level master's of nursing program (MSN)
- Must apply as first professional nursing role
- Must pass the NCLEX prior to the start of the residency
- Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA to be considered
Disqualifications:
- Associate degree with:
- Prior work experience as a professional nurse
- Without BSN or entry-level MSN
- Must graduate within the time frame listed above
- Applicants who have previously applied to the nurse residency program are ineligible to reapply
- Application documents received after the deadline will not be considered
- Applicants may only apply to one of the two tracks.
