Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a Clinical Psychologist trained in child and adolescent mental health to provide psychological evaluations, therapy, and consultative support at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) in Fort Bliss, Texas. The psychologist will be an integral part of the Department of Behavioral Health, helping to assess, diagnose, and treat psychological conditions in children and teens, and providing critical support to families and healthcare teams.
This is a personal services contract position, working closely under the supervision of military healthcare leadership. The role involves both clinical care and coordination with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive mental health support.
General Duties:
Clinical Privileges: Perform all duties within the scope of privileges granted by the MTF Director.
Contractual Obligations: Execute responsibilities as per contract and outlined standards.
Specific Duties:
Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for children, teens, and their families.
Diagnose mental health conditions per DSM-V or current psychiatric standards.
Provide therapy using evidence-based practices (CBT, client-centered, brief therapy).
Offer individual, group, and family counseling.
Consult with primary care and other medical staff on psychological health matters.
Perform biopsychosocial evaluations and interpret psychological test results.
Support crisis intervention for youth experiencing psychological stress.
Monitor treatment plans, maintain clinical documentation, and manage cases according to DoD and hospital policies.
Deliver expert guidance on child development, trauma, and treatment planning.
Participate in team case reviews, quality assurance, and contribute to clinical program improvements.
Qualifications:
Degree: PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
Education: Graduate from an APA-accredited program.
Internship: Completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.
Experience: At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience with children/adolescents post-training within the last 2 years.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted psychology license from any U.S. jurisdiction.
Board Certification: Not required.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); no DEA required.
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Skills and Abilities:
Deep understanding of child/adolescent development and psychopathology.
Skilled in psychological testing, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention.
Proficient in using electronic medical records and documentation systems.
Capable of working in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.

Additional Information:
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 0730–1630; up to 40 hours/week. No on-call or weekend shifts.

Hospital/clinic-based within a military setting.
Physical Requirements:
TB screening, Hep B vaccination, and proof of immunizations required.
Security Requirements:
Must pass background checks and obtain access to government systems.
