Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse – Urology to provide specialized nursing support and patient care services within the Urology Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC), Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The Registered Nurse will support physicians and healthcare teams in the treatment and management of patients with urologic conditions involving the kidneys, bladder, urinary tract, and reproductive systems.

This role includes patient assessment, outpatient nursing care, procedure assistance, patient education, medication administration, coordination of specialty referrals, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. The RN will work closely with physicians, technicians, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in accordance with DHA and military healthcare standards.

General Duties

Provide services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Director.
Perform duties in accordance with the Task Order Performance Work Statement (PWS), DHA standards, and MTF policies.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and military healthcare regulations.
Participate in readiness activities, staff meetings, peer review, and quality improvement programs.
Specific Duties

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult and geriatric ENT patients.
Obtain patient histories, medication lists, vital signs, and symptom assessments.
Perform telephone and in-person patient triage.
Assist providers during ENT examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Prepare patients and examination rooms for specialty procedures.
Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen, and prescribed treatments.
Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and respond to emergencies as needed.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Coordinate referrals, specialty appointments, and continuity of care.
Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation.
Operate and maintain specialty clinic equipment and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to support patient care delivery.
Qualifications

Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Education
Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
(Both through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.)

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of outpatient clinic, emergency room, ICU, urgent care, surgical, or specialty nursing experience within the past three years preferred.
Previous experience in urology, surgical specialties, or procedural outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
Licensure:
Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

Familiarity with military healthcare systems and TRICARE is highly preferred
Schedule

Monday through Friday
Standard clinic hours: 0730 – 1630
Maximum 40 hours per week
No on-call requirement
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
Ability to assist patients during procedures and examinations
Ability to lift and move clinical equipment and supplies
Manual dexterity required for nursing and procedural support duties
Work Environment

This position is performed in a military outpatient Urology clinic environment within Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. The work environment includes direct patient care, specialty procedures, interdisciplinary collaboration, and electronic medical documentation.

Immunization Requirement:
Must comply with all DHA and Medical Employee Health Program (MEHP) requirements, including tuberculosis screening, immunizations, and annual influenza vaccination.

Security Requirement:
Must be able to successfully complete background investigations, credentialing, and installation access requirements for work on Nellis Air Force Base.
