Description
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse – Family Medicine to provide outpatient clinical nursing support within the Family Medicine Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC). The LPN will support physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and healthcare staff in delivering primary care services to military members, retirees, and their families. Duties include patient intake, clinical support, medication administration, patient education, documentation, and coordination of care while ensuring compliance with DHA and military healthcare standards.
General Duties
Perform duties within the scope authorized by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Follow all PWS, DHA, infection control, HIPAA, and patient safety requirements.
Participate in staff meetings, readiness activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
Specific Duties
Prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
Obtain and document patient histories, medications, allergies, chief complaints, and vital signs.
Assist providers during examinations and routine outpatient procedures.
Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per provider orders and clinic protocols.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions or changes in condition and report findings appropriately.
Educate patients regarding medications, preventive care, chronic disease management, wellness, and follow-up instructions.
Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation.
Coordinate appointments, referrals, follow-up visits, and patient communications.
Support clinic workflow and patient throughput.
Maintain clean, stocked, and operational treatment areas and exam rooms.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to support continuity of care.
Qualifications
Degree: Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing or Vocational Nursing program.
Education: Completion of a practical nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or an equivalent approved educational program.
Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of outpatient clinic, family medicine, primary care, or direct patient care experience preferred.
Experience in military, family medicine, or primary care clinic settings is highly desirable.
Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted LPN/LVN license in any U.S. state or territory.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment
Strong documentation and electronic medical record skills
Knowledge of preventive care and chronic disease management workflows
Ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition
Strong organizational and teamwork skills
Familiarity with military healthcare systems and TRICARE is preferred
Schedule:
Monday through Friday
Shifts scheduled between 0600 – 1700
9-hour shifts with a minimum 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Maximum 40 hours per week
No on-call requirement
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
Ability to assist patients during examinations and treatments
Ability to lift and move clinical supplies and equipment
Manual dexterity sufficient for clinical nursing duties
Work Environment
This position is performed in a military outpatient Family Medicine clinic environment within Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. The work setting includes direct patient care, routine outpatient procedures, interdisciplinary collaboration, and electronic medical documentation.
Immunization Requirement
Must comply with all DHA and Medical Employee Health Program (MEHP) requirements, including annual influenza vaccination, tuberculosis screening, and required immunizations.
Security Requirement
Must successfully complete all background investigations, credentialing requirements, and installation access procedures required for work on Nellis Air Force Base
