Description
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant – Urology to provide specialty medical care within the Urology Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC). The Physician Assistant (PA) will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with urologic conditions involving the kidneys, bladder, urinary tract, and male reproductive system. Duties include patient assessments, specialty consultations, treatment planning, procedural support, patient education, medication management, and coordination of care while ensuring compliance with DHA and military healthcare standards.
General Duties
• Provide services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
• Perform duties in accordance with the PWS, DHA standards, and MTF policies.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection prevention, and patient safety regulations.
• Participate in peer review, quality improvement, readiness activities, and staff training.
Specific Duties
• Perform comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations for urology patients.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic urologic conditions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and specialty teams.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic procedures related to urologic care.
• Assist with and perform approved urologic procedures within the scope of clinical privileges.
• Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care and monitoring.
• Prescribe medications and treatments according to approved protocols and scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation.
• Coordinate referrals, specialty consultations, diagnostic testing, and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff to support patient care delivery.
Qualifications
Degree
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Education
Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
Certification
Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Experience
• Experience as required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in credentialing instructions.
• Previous outpatient specialty, surgical, or urology clinical experience is highly preferred.
• Experience working in military, VA, or federal healthcare environments is desirable.
Licensure
Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

• Familiarity with military healthcare systems and TRICARE is highly preferred
Schedule
• Monday through Friday
• Standard clinic hours: 0730 – 1630
• Maximum 40 hours per week
• No on-call requirement
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
• Ability to assist during clinical procedures and patient examinations
• Ability to lift and move clinical equipment and supplies
• Manual dexterity sufficient for procedural and clinical duties
Work Environment
This position is performed in a military outpatient Urology clinic environment within Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. The work setting includes direct patient care, specialty procedures, interdisciplinary collaboration, and electronic medical documentation.
Immunization Requirement
Must comply with all DHA and Medical Employee Health Program (MEHP) requirements, including annual influenza vaccination, tuberculosis screening, and required immunizations.
Security Requirement
Must successfully complete all credentialing, background investigations, and installation access requirements for work on Nellis Air Force Base.
